Current Events What's it like at our events? (view photos of our events)They are fun for you and your hound(s). Our events are one of our best ways of getting new adopters for these wonderful hounds, we can always use more volunteers to help. Please be responsible when out with your greyhound. When your greyhound is at the end of a leash, he/she relies on you for safety. Your greyhound will appreciate your efforts to keep him/her close by your side. Please join us in helping to spread the word on greyhound adoption. We need help promoting our organization at local events. Can you spare a couple of hours one weekend a month to go to a pet store, a green market or any other location to let people meet your greyhound(s) and give out information on our organization? For any of the events without specific chairpersons you may sign up with Barbara at BarbaraMasi@comcast.net or (561) 737-1941 Upcoming Scheduled Events Great Charity Challenge Date: February 17th (Friday) About the event:GPA is participating in the Great Charity Challenge at the Wellington Equestrian Festival and you and your Greyhound are welcome to come to the event. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance or at the gate. Please remember to buy them under GPA. All ticket sales will be donated to the participating charities. To purchase tickets online go to www.ftigreatcharitychallenge.com .All charities will have a chance to win a portion of $50,000 with 1st place receiving $25,000, 2nd place $12,500, and 3rd place $12,500. Fur Seasons Greyhound Meet and Greet Date: February 18th (Saturday) About the event:Come out and meet the Greyhounds! If you have a greyhound or are interested in adopting one you can meet them and learn about this wonderful breed. The dogs will have time to stretch their legs and swim and cool off in the Fur Season pool. If interested in volunteering please contact Mary.Boca Raton Pet Expo CANCELLED Date: February 26th (Sunday) About the event:Please join us for this big event which will have up to 100 vendors/exhibitors and will include food, entertainment, exhibitions, agility courses and demonstrations. There will also be dog contests and activities for kids. We'll need several volunteers to help out with 2 hour shifts so if interested please contact Barbara.South Florida Pet Expo Date: March 24th (Saturday) About the event:This is a huge event which always brings out a lot of animal lovers each year. Pet Supplies Plus - We will be at the Lake Worth Pet Supplies Plus store on the NE corner of Lantana and Jog Road every other Saturday from 10am to 12pm. Palm Beach Kennel Club
PetCo - brand new store on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach - just north of Boynton Beach Blvd (NE corner shopping center). Saturdays from 11am - 1pm. This is an opportunity for interested people to actually see and touch the Greyhounds before submitting an adoption application. Please contact Josie Pinero at (561) 392-7952 or 
PetCo - our visits to the store on Sundays have been an exciting place to meet people interested in an "up close and personal" visit with a Greyhound. This is an ideal venue for people to actually see and touch the dogs before submitting an adoption application. We will be at the Wellington PetCo on 441 between Southern and Forest Hill every other Sunday from 11am to 1pm. Please contact Kerry Friedman at (561) 574-7756 or 
PetSmart - on US 1 in Jensen Beach every Friday from 12pm to 2pm and also Sunday from 11am to 1pm. This is ideal for those in the northern areas to have a place to visit with the Greys so potential adopters can get "up close and personal" with these magnificent animals. Contact Pete Thompson at 
Channel 12 TV – WPEC – Weekly appearances by a kennel dog – during the noon news program – airs approximately 12:25 pm each day with Pet of the Day 
Channel 25 TV – WPBF – Will be showing a 30 second Public Service Announcement promoting adoption. They will also make up the tag line for our local group and send it to the other stations to also air – no telling when or how often – but hopefully we’ll get airtime from this beautiful “ad” for Greyhound adoption.
